Voice Talent
You are at the airport ticket kiosk when a friendly, helpful voice steps you through the process of obtaining your boarding pass...while on hold for a doctor's appointment a caring voice lets you know that your call is important and that you will be helped shortly...as you drive your car, your favorite radio station's call letters are announced...you laugh during a commercial on television when you hear the announcer say something with a dry, somewhat sarcastic tone. The list goes on and on. The voices you hear?
VOICE TALENT!
We are the actors and actresses (yes, I said actors and actresses) who give you information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in some format or another. Radio, television, interactive kiosks, message-on-hold, audiobooks, audiotours, podcasts, corporate video, documentaries, the list goes on and on.
I take my craft very seriously. That is why I train on an ongoing basis. Improv classes, acting (yes, acting!) classes, oncamera classes, voice training, masters workshops in animation, audiobooks, and looping, to name a few.
I believe that is what sets me apart from the rest: my dedication to the craft. Because of my training, I am able to adapt to many different scenarios (and, believe me, this business is not for the faint of heart!), I am a master at cold reads (which means you are not given an opportunity to see the script before the voiceover gig), and make very few mistakes. TRANSLATION: less time in the studio means you, the client, has to spend LESS MONEY on the production costs. Fewer mistakes also means less editing time at the studio. AGAIN, less out-of-pocket expenses.
